Welcome Work Starter Kit

What is the Welcome Work Starter Kit?

The Welcome Work Starter Kit is a free, interactive online resource designed to support the integration of refugees into the European construction sector. It offers practical tools, real-world examples, and clear guidance for educators, employers, and support professionals.

Developed with input from five EU countries, it aims to tackle skills shortages and promote inclusive employment in construction.

Who is it for?

• VET (Vocational Education and Training) directors, trainers, and guidance staff

• Construction companies and recruiters

• HR and support personnel in the construction field

• Refugees seeking work in construction across Europ

The EU faces a growing skills gap and labour shortage in construction. At the same time, refugee populations remain an underutilised workforce. By equipping training centres and employers with the right information, we can:

 • Support economic and social integration
 • Address the industry's workforce challenges
 • Create meaningful, stable job opportunities for refugees
